All Things SLI
Silver Lake Intermediate Oct. 16, 2020
SLI Families:
Fall Greetings! What a fun week despite having modified OHS homecoming activities. Our students did a great job of showing their school spirit on our spirit days. Check out some pictures in this Smore. This next week, Wednesday, Oct. 21 is Unity Day. Unity Day is the signature event of National Bullying Prevention Month.
Just a reminder as families are beginning to travel more. Prior to the family trip, please ask the office for a contemplated absence form. This form is completed by the student's teachers of what work your child would miss while on vacation. Please try to schedule your trips when students are not in school. On the contemplated absence form, there is a link to travel information for families. Families that travel on a cruise, or riverboat, or internationally are asked to quarantine upon returning to school. I have included the form in this Smore, but you also can find it on our SLI website.
Together We Are Better,
Jill Marr, SLI Principal

Don't be alarmed if your child calls you from the principal's office! Yes, sometimes students make unwise choices as part of their growing and learning during adolescence and SLI administration will call to speak to parents/guardians. However, there will be A LOT of positive phone calls coming from the principal's office this year.

The Character Strong curriculum is built around the “Eight Essential” character traits and social emotional skills that have been proven to help us be productive, empathetic, successful people. We will be working together to build a kinder school culture and, ultimately, a kinder world. We are so excited to dive into this resource with our students and staff, and with families as well!
