Uniform Changes
I am excited to share new updates and changes to our school dress code as we approach the 2018-2019 school year. As you'll recall, Dennis Uniform, our new exclusive uniform provider will be hosting a shopping event at Bishop McGuinness Catholic High School beginning this Friday through Sunday. At this event, you'll be able to see our updates and changes, have your child(ren) fitted for uniform items and place orders. Complete information for the uniform sale can be found below. Our online web-store is officially open. You may access it at the link below.
I have outlined some of the most noticeable changes to our current uniform offerings below. Please pay special attention to the implementation timeline when noted. Some offerings from Parker Uniform will still be acceptable for our dress code. The entire Uniform Guidelines packet from Dennis Uniform can be viewed here.
Plaid Jumpers, Skirts and Skorts
- Plaids purchased at Parker Uniform may be worn as long as they are in good repair. The plaid offerings from Parker Uniform and Dennis Uniform are nearly identical.
- Beginning in the 2018-2019 school year, the only approved skort and skirt styles for girls in grades 6-8 are the Dunbar Plaid styles. Navy skirts and skorts will not be included in the dress code for girls in grades 6-8.
- We have added an additional style of Dunbar Plaid jumper for girls in grades K-4. This style is the Dunbar Plaid Box Pleated Shift Jumper.
- Beginning in the 2018-2019 school year, boys in grades K-8 must wear the Dunbar Plaid necktie or bow tie offered exclusively through Dennis Uniform as part of their Mass Uniform.
Polo Shirts
- Students in grades K-8 may wear either white or wine polo style shirts on non-PE days. The wine polo purchased from Dennis Uniform carries the St. John Nepomuk Catholic School logo. Families will have the 2018-2019 school year to phase out remaining wine polos purchased from Parker Uniform. Beginning in the 2019-2020 school year, when wearing a wine polo, students will be required to wear the wine polo with the St. John Nepomuk Catholic School Logo purchased exclusively through Dennis Uniform. At this time, white polos will not carry the St. John Nepomuk Catholic School logo and may be purchased at any uniform supplier.
- We are excited to add a navy polo dress for girls in grades K-2. This dress may be worn on non-PE days. This dress is not an approved item for the Mass Uniform.
- In addition to the existing button up cardigan, students in grades 6-8 may wear the Navy Sweater Vest while wearing their non-PE uniform and Mass Uniform.
Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. I want to extend a special thank you to our School Advisory Council for their assistance and guidance in this process. I hope all of you have a pleasant experience with Dennis Uniform at our shopping event this weekend!
Sincerely,
Natalie Johnson

Okarche Track Meet Information
Dear SJN K-6th Grade Families,
It's hard to believe, but it's almost Okarche Track Meet time! Students in grades K-6 will venture to Okarche on Friday, May 4 for our annual track meet. You may access the information letter and permission form HERE. If food ordering information is distributed from Holy Trinity School, I will share it with all of you. Permission forms are due back to the school no later than TOMORROW Friday, April 27. Please pay special attention to information regarding Oklahoma car seat laws.
Please remember to be respectful to the Holy Trinity campus and others by keeping these requests in mind:
- As stated in the Archdiocesan Pet Policy, pets and animals are not permitted at school functions.
- Students and families should not bring sports equipment to the track meet. This includes but is not limited to footballs, frisbees, basketballs, etc.
- Holy Trinity has requested that students not play on playground equipment.
- Please be diligent to supervise children at all times. While the field and grounds at Holy Trinity will be filled with SJN families and families of those attending from other Catholic schools, we will not be protected by outside individuals and others not associated with our event. Please be vigilant to keep our beloved children safe!
Thanks for your support and GO FALCONS!

Care & Share Deadline Approaching
The end of the month of April brings the deadline for our Care & Share submissions for the current school year. Current totals for families are being sent home with students today. Please be certain to log any hours that have not been recorded by Friday, April 28. If you are volunteering or have volunteered in an area that earns the automatic Care & Share requirement, please record it in the log book. Each hour that your family is unable to complete is subject to a $20.00 fee payable to St. John Nepomuk Catholic School. I have included some helpful notes and guidelines for Care & Share below. If you have questions or concerns, feel free to contact me or our Care & Share Coordinator, Angie McPherson by clicking HERE. You can use this LINK to post Care & Share submissions online.
Care & Share Information
Each year, families are asked to give 30 hours of your time and talent to our school family. Only 15 hours are required for single parents. If your family chooses not to donate the minimum service hours, a $20 fee will be charged for each hour not completed. Teachers and staff who have children attending St. John Nepomuk are not asked to give service hours, but are still encouraged to support all school activities.
The C&S program year starts on May 1, and ends on April 30. No hours can be carried over to the next year. Those who have been unable to complete their hours may pay the C&S fees any time during the school year. Those who are returning next fall will be required to pay any unpaid C&S fees at registration. Any families not returning in the fall should pay their fees before the last day of classes.
Up to 10 hours of the total 30 hours (5 hours for those only required to give 15) may come from time donated in service to the parish. Parish activities eligible for the C&S program are: religious education teacher, serving drinks at the parish picnic, elected membership on the parish council, liturgy board, finance committee, and property committee. No other parish activities may be counted toward C&S hours unless approved by the principal.
Any member of your family may do volunteer work toward the service requirement. Please make sure that the hours are recorded under your Family name in order to get the credit.
Hours are non-transferable. Approved activities are outlined below. All other activities must be approved by school administration.
