A Note from Dr. Reynolds
WBE Families,
We want to thank our WBE families for all your support over the last two weeks as our 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students have taken TCAP. We are excited about the month of May; we are heading in the home stretch with only a few weeks of school left. We have many exciting events for all. (see detailed explanation of events in this newsletter). A few events for our families include field day, 4th grade Wax Museum, One Book One School, Stem Showcase, and class parties the last day of school. We look forward to seeing you soon.
We would also like to thank all of our parent volunteers in the lunchroom. We love having such a supportive community.

5/2- One Book One School Kickoff
5/3- No Students - School closed
5/4- 5th grade field trip
5/5- KDDC Orientation 9am (5th grade students will walk over and visit)
5/6- Career Expo/ STEM Around the World
5/9- JA Biztown 5th grade
5/10- K Open House & Meet the Mustangs 6:00 p.m. all new kindergarten students
5/12- College Dress Up Day
5/12 STEM Showcase 6- 7:30 pm (parents are invited to walk through and look at artifacts from students in art and stem, chorus will also perform)
5/13- Field Day
5/16- Field Day Rain out
5/19- Wax Museum
5/19 Spirit Day-Blue Coast (wear spirit wear)
5/20- Bday Celebration/Gallop Day/5th Grade Creek Walk
5/23- Reading Celebration/House Celebration/Out of This World Event (during related arts)
5/24- Last Day for Students
5/24 9:00 5th grade awards ceremony
5/24 class parties (teachers will send times)

About us
Dr. WIlliam Burrus Elementary is a STEM designated school located in Hendersonville, TN with about 600 students. We have also been designated by the State of Tennessee as a Reward School for student achievement and growth. We are dedicated to building student leaders who possess the 21st century skills necessary to lead and achieve.
