iPad what?!
The basic, basic guide to iPads
Apple iPads
Hopefully you will find your iPad mini very easy to use. Here are a few helpful hints to get you started with a bang.
Passcode lock
Set your passcode lock. General>Passcode Lock>On. Set your own 4 digit PIN number.
Share/Action button
This button helps you 'do' something with your email/picture/document.
Home button
Click this to go back to the home screen. Double click to view all open apps.
Delete apps
Click and hold apps and a cross will appear in the top left corner. Click this again to delete the apps.
Screen grab
This can be useful...I can't think off the top of my head when but you will soon see!
Click the home button and the power button at the same time. It will make a pleasing camera shutter sound and the screen will flash if you do it right. If you don't it will turn off. Annoying.com.
Moving apps round and creating folders
Click and hold to make all the apps 'wobbly' They now can be dragged around the screen. To make a folder drag an app on top of another one. A folder will be made which you can click, hold and then rename. Sometimes it magically names it what you are thinking anyway....oooh!
Look like a pro with multi-touch gestures
Five finger grab? Four finger swipe? Go to Settings>General>Multitasking gestures- make sure they are on.
Copying and pasting
To copy and paste text, hold your finger at the start of the text to be copied. The word should be highlighted and you can drag the end cursor to the end of the text to be copied. Just click Copy and it will be stored. Go to the place you woul like to paste and hold your finger down again. The menu will appear.
Moving between apps.
Double click the home button and a list of apps which are open will appear. This is one way to move around without always returning to the home screen. Another way (provided you have multitasking gestures on) is to swipe with four fingers across the screen this will skip through all open apps.
Safari so goody
This is your browser to look at the internet. It is like the Serengeti of information.
