The Waldron Weekly ‘21-'22
volume 13
Week of 11/1/21
"Does my child need to wear a mask on Monday?"
A number of families have been asking about what happens to our mask requirement at the end of this month. SUSD’s prior communication has been that the mask requirement will continue at least two weeks following fall break. SUSD also shared that there are two significant factors that will impact when we can move from a mask requirement to being mask-optional. The CDC, AzDHS, and MCDPH all recommend wearing masks while indoors, regardless of vaccination status, when community transmission levels are high or substantial, like ours is. The second critical variable is the ability of our students ages 5-11 to get vaccinated. SUSD reviews mitigation protocols weekly and will continue to do so, as well as provide weekly updates to SUSD employees and our families.
At this time masks will continue to be worn within SUSD schools. Please continue to read the weekly SUSD Communications emails for important updates.
