Remote Learning Begins at WPHS
Panthers:
First and foremost - let us say that WE BELIEVE IN EACH OF YOU. We believe that we are the best prepared school in all of Colorado, if not the nation, to pick up instruction and learning (as if we never left off) under this new normal of our world. Even though this is temporary - it’s necessary that we all do our best to continue learning and growing. The “best we can” will not be perfect. We will not have all the answers before we begin. We will need to be flexible, creative and adaptive to meet your needs. YOU are ready for this because you’ve been building your readiness, resilience and academic tenacity for just such a moment.
Our Temporary Mission: We will keep moving forward academically as if we were in school. We will teach and learn according to the established standards. We will not lower expectations. We will adjust the methods of instruction we utilize. We will expand the modes of demonstrating learning.
We believe it is critical that we continue “face to face” instruction as creatively as we can. As well, we also want as much academic integrity as we can build into a new learning system. Therefore - we’re launching a new set of expectations that can carry this out without putting students or ourselves at risk to spread illnesses. Please read the plan below for details on how we will be working to carry this out.
Remote Learning Plan
Classroom/Course Plan for instruction
You will “go to class” daily - you will have TWO, 1-hour classes each day on GOOGLE HANGOUT
Your teacher will be sending you INVITES via your SCHOOL EMAIL that you will need to check DAILY!
You will need to be doing AT LEAST 30 minutes of INDEPENDENT work daily per class
Meeting with a teacher, “homework”, project work, group meetings with other students, using recorded resources from your teachers
Every week there will be at least 1 scored DOL/assignment/progress check per class.
We will do the best we can to “adapt” labs or other DOL’s that would certainly be better in person.
