Notes from Principal.......

The end of the school year is approaching fast and we have so much happening here at Bednarcik. We are so excited to bring back the Bulldog Bash for the first time since 2019! The event is an outside event where our students will be hanging out and celebrating the year together. We would love to end the year on all positive notes and student behavior is expected to be appropriate for the remainder of the year. Any students who receive suspensions of any kind or before/after school detentions between now and the end of the year may miss a portion of the event.

Health Requirements for the 2022/2032 School Year

Make plans now!! The Illinois School Code has specific immunization and examinations that are required to attend school, these must be provided at the following times: Pre-K/EC, Kindergarten, 2nd grade, 6th grade, 9th grade,12th grade and upon first entry to an Illinois school (see link below for requirements by grade level).

School Health Requirements


Failure to provide documentation of the physical and vaccine requirements will result in first-day exclusion from school. Documentation of future medical appointments will not be accepted.


All health forms and medical documentation can be brought to the main office at the building your student will be attending during regular office hours.

Please contact your building nurse with any questions or concerns.

CONGRATULATIONS 8TH GRADE POETS!

Congratulations to 8th graders Aarin Bothra, Morgan Couper, Lydia Gerety, and Catie Sloan for being chosen to be published in Poetic Power and Creative Communication's poetry anthology, A Celebration of Poets! As the editors of this anthology stated, "Publishing the high merit poems from our contest creates a record of what is important to today's students. Without this publication, the entries which reflect the unique insight and perspective of the youth today would be lost forever." Mrs. Thilk is so proud of your accomplishment, and we can't wait to hear about the excellent writing that you will be doing as Oswego East Wolves in the years to come!

PrairieFest Parade 2022 is on Sunday, June 19, 2022 (Step off: 1:00pm)


Sign up to represent your school in the Oswegoland Park District's PrairieFest "Just Another Day in Paradise" parade. Free t-shirt will be provided to those parade walkers who have signed up.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS


What is the PTO?

Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) is composed of parents, teachers, and staff working together to better our school and foster relationships throughout the school community.


What do we do?

We assist the school with providing innovative teaching resources for our kiddos. We plan fun events to bring families into the school throughout the year such as the 6th grade ice cream social and the 8th grade dance. We support our teachers and staff with appreciation events. We work with our school administrators to collaborate on school events and help to staff those events.


Who can join?

If you have a child at our school, you can.


What does my membership pay for?

Membership fees help to pay for all of the fun events and innovative teaching resources we assist the school with throughout the year. We also host fundraisers to help.


What if I am not able to help at the school, can I still join?

Absolutely. We ask for volunteers throughout the year but there is no minimum requirement to be a member. We’re glad to have your support in whatever form you are able.


Do I have to attend meetings to join?

No. We would love you to be there to help us plan and to provide feedback on the things we are doing, but it is not a requirement of membership.
