Bobcat of the Week

This week's bobcat of the week goes to Danielle McCarthy for going above and beyond helping Alicia with the Finals Week Survival bags, your hard work does not go unnoticed.


Paw Props this week goes to those who attended the MLK silent march and brunch Monday morning. Thanks for standing up in the name of diversity!

You Rock Award

This week the You Rock Award was passed from Danielle McCarthy to Sierra Humphrey for two reasons. First for taking on a new position in the middle of the year which is not an easy task, and second for her AWESOME linked in posts. YOU ROCK!

Presidential Notes


Just a reminder about appropriate communication: please email exec with absences and other attendance concerns.

Other reminders:

You need 15 points

You're allowed 3 absences (from meetings)

A 24 hour notice is required for every event you sign up for (or -2)

A 48 hour notice is required for any mandatory event (or -2)

SENIORS: only need 10 pts. And no committee

And now some information about CASE State Day...

Schools from across the state will be in attendance (double that attended last year)

CASE 5 (the larger organization of professionals) granted us 500$ to host the conference

There will be 9 sessions total (3 time slots with 3 sessions each)

The event will feature a marketing and branding swap where organizations can share their swag and promotional material with other orgs for inspiration.

Lunch (on the house) and Section 8 (who doesn't love a good performance?!)

Amanda's been working on a service project to benefit My Sister’s Place

This event is great for ALL members to attend (especially if you’re thinking of running for a PM or exec position)

Katrina and the OUAA

Homecoming 2016- have ideas for themes? if you didn't get the chance to write it down tonight, they will be discussed during committee meetings this week.

Night of networking- Put on by the OUAA for students. The event is surrounding the carer fair and will feature bobcat recruiters who are in attendance at the career fair.

Legacy Scholarship- Apply online! You are eligible if either your parents or grandparents graduated form OU. It's a $1000 reward which is pretty cool!

Melissa and Membership

Email the MelKel for absences at sabmembership1804@gmail.com, please CC the respective VP in any emails regarding absences to Melissa. This is especially important for mandatory events.

Open House will take place at KAC from 5:30 to 7:30 pm on Feb 1 and 2. This is a mandatory event, so please mark your calendars.

If you have an especially heavy semester you have 3 options:

1) go inactive

2) receive a points deduction

3) receive a meeting deduction

Please note that if you plan on going through with one of these options you must discuss your concerns with Melissa and Kendra by Jan 31.

Kate and Communications


Let Kate know if your interested. Still $35. Still Medium. Still running a little big. Still Awesome.

We'll be doing hats and water bottles this semester.

Here is the link to sign the binding agreement for the hats.

Hats are approximately $10, featuring an adjustable brass buckle, dark green fabric, and white embroidery across the front.

Here is the link to sign the interest document for the water bottles.

Water bottles are 32oz Nalgenes featuring some to be determined design. May be dark green, mint green, white, or possibly other colors.

Hannah and Finance

Spring Dues are $30. due to Hannah by Jan 31.

New Incentive Program

Now how three options. You may choose to get your money back for spring semester, not pay for next fall, or you may choose to put your money towards apparel items (that means free stuff).

Sorry guys, forgetting is no longer a valuable excuse to be included in the incentive program. Hannah will however still be lenient with valid reasons as to why you are late, but you MUST let her know what's up.

Payment of all items is due 2 weeks after receipt.

Phil and Alumni Engagement

OUAA is paying for 8ish students to go to DC networking week at volunteers for the event due on orgsync Jan 31. Lots of panels for you to go to. Your job will be to help get people from point A to point B, but you'll have plenty of time to participate in the event as well!

Leadership retreat happening in March. Have you hear da great speaker? Sierra wants to know about it so they can be considered for Leadership Retreat!
