Christmas in Puerto Rico

Puerto Rico on the map
Puerto is locate in the Caribbean islands not incorporated in the United States. It is a beautiful island with many mountains and vast forests. It also has breath-taking white sand beaches and coral reefs, which are great tourist attractions. San Juan is the capital of this glorious country and lives up the title that is Puerto Rico.
Dia de los Inocentes
On December 28th the whole town comes together to form a great party. This night in other Canary Islands is similar to the American "April Fools Day." Whereas in Puerto Rico the celebration includes a parade and fireworks which is a very interesting thing to me considering in America we do not have anything around those lines on Christmas.
Carolers
People go from house to house singing until someone opens their door. Then the homeowner will make the carolers something to eat and then move on the next house. After, the homeowners follow the carolers to the next house and the party grows even bigger throughout the night.
Three Kings Day
Children fill a box with grass and put them under their beds for the "kings camel's to eat." That night the "kings (parents)" take the grass and replace them with presents.
Traditional Navidad Foods
There are many traditional foods like Tembleque, guayaba pastry, lechon, coquito, alcapurias, etc.
