Jackson PTA Giving Garden
What is the Giving Garden?
The Jackson PTA Giving Garden first started during the 2015-16 school year. Each year, the event happens in the spring. Local families in need are chosen by Jackson's counselors and social worker. "Gardens" are available for families, staff, and/or students to pick a flower. Each flower has a description of an item to purchase and donate. The items help Jackson families in need. Each child in the families, chosen by the school, receives the following: two summer outfits, pajamas, a swimsuit, and a pair of shoes. Items can be purchased new or very gently used.
How can I help?
This year the Garden will be done virtually through Sign-up Genius. Sign up to purchase an item and return to Jackson unwrapped with your name on it. It's that easy!
What happens next?
Once the items are purchased, the Giving Garden team will sort the donations and hand everything off to the school to be distributed to the Families.
Donations should be turned in no later than Thursday, April 22. Thank you for your contribution to our Giving Garden!

Water Bottle Reminder
Curbside Book Pickup
LRC curbside book pickup is still available for our remote learners. Hours are flexible and can be scheduled at the convenience of our remote Jackson families' schedules. A reminder of the checkout process, including our flexible pickup procedures, is as follows:
- Students use Destiny Discover to select books and place them on hold for pickup.
- Students complete a form indicating the day and time they will be picking up their book(s).
- Pickup takes place at the LRC door (Door #13) located at the back of the building.
We hope you find this process convenient to meet the needs of families, as we want to support and encourage our students and their reading. In-person learners will still continue to check out books using Destiny Discover. Books will be delivered to students' classrooms. If you have any questions, please reach out to Ms. Jilek, our LRC Specialist, at tjilek@d45.org.
