Parking Lot during spring sports!!!!
As you know, Cottonwood shares the parking lot with the District Stadium. During the Spring, AHS, ACHS, ACMS and AMS host track meets and soccer practices. This means that parking/traffic may be difficult during dismissal.
Mark your calendars for May 2nd and May 9th as Track Meet Days.
Field Day--May 10th
Each class designed an arcade game for us to play. We spent some time Friday playing the games. Nice job Cottonwood students! We had fun and recycled our games!
Counselor Corner
Counselor Time---During May, we will review what bullying is and what to do if you are being bullied. We will also continue talking about stranger danger.
AMS transition- Please let me know if your child is struggling with this. I can spend some extra time with them on this topic.
We will go and visit the middle school. This is a very helpful endeavor for the kids. They get a feel for the sixth grade pod and what their lunch procedure is all about. They also get to meet some of the staff. Our visit will be on May 11th.
COWS-Thanks so much for all that have volunteered to come present at our third grade career fair. It will be May 3rd here at CES. It is in the front parking lot from 9-11 AM. Please plan to come around 8:45 AM. If you have not yet signed up and would still like to please let me know. I truly appreciate all my volunteers and the kids love this day.
Summer Help and Activities-If you are in need of finding a tutor or help for your child this summer please feel free to contact me for assistance.

From the Nurse's Office--Mrs. Tauke and Mrs. Clopton
As we wind down the school year, the health office will be sending out a letter to let parents know if there are any missing health documents or missing immunizations that will need to be turned in by the first day of school in the Fall.
On the last day of school, the health office will send home with students over-the -counter medications, inhalers and emergency medications. Parents will need to pick up prescription medications. If you do not wish for medication to go home with student please contact the health office.
The health office is also in need of size 4 girls underwear.
Running with our running club friends! Go Cottonwood!
From the Library--Mrs. Ohlund
Books are flying off the shelf! Literally!! Students are rushing to get the newest books so quickly we don't have time to shelve them! Some of the new books we purchased recently have waiting lists. (That's a problem we love to have!) We are so grateful for the extra money we received from the Kake Reading Caravan.
New to the library are a couple of new chairs. The curvy design makes it comfy to read when time allows.
WAW voting is this week. Students in grades 3-5, who have read two or more WAW books will vote for their favorite. The deadline is April 19th, for reading the required amount to qualify for the pizza party. We can't wait for the party on Thursday, April 27.
Finally, the last day to check out is May 10 with all books due May 12. Plan ahead to keep your child reading by checking out books at the Andover Public Library.
