Early Dismissal 10/1, Picture Day Will Be Rescheduled. Fall Festival 10/9

Hello, Chapel Families!

A reminder that today is an Early Dismissal with a 12:20 p.m. dismissal time. Previously scheduled parent/teacher conferences will take place in the PM. Our original 9/30 Picture Day was postponed by LifeTouch due to an issue with quarantined photographers. We are waiting to hear from the company when our Picture Day will be rescheduled. As soon as LifeTouch provides a date, this will be communicated with families.

Mark your calendars for our PTO's Fall Festival on Saturday 10/9 from 12-3 p.m.! Our PTO has been working hard to plan this family-friendly event. There will be a silent auction, cake wheel, games, food, crafts, inflatables, and more. Our Grandparents Club is seeking cake and baked good donations for the cake wheel, so please consider helping. We hope to see you there!

Today is the last day our PTO is collecting recipes for our first Chapel Cheetah Cookbook. Recipes can be emailed to Homerooms are also collecting items for themed class baskets for our Fall Festival.

We will continue to keep you informed of Covid updates. Please see the TCPS chart and link that shows Covid cases and quarantined students by TCPS school below.

Basically if children show any signs of illness there are three options:

1) Stay home for 10 days, may return with no fever for 24 hours and resolution of symptoms

2) Get tested, return with proof of negative PCR test result and resolution of symptoms

3) See a doctor and get a differential diagnosis/note and have no fever for 24 hours and resolution of symptoms

For future reference, if your child is deemed a close contact, you will receive a text message and email from the school, as well as a quarantine letter from the Talbot County Health Department that outlines the dates of your child's quarantine, information about Covid testing, and a return to school date. You may reach out to our school nurse, Christa Johns, with any questions you may have ( If your child has to quarantine, work will be provided and your child's teacher will check in/provide office hours as needed. We will continue to use enhanced cleaning procedures and follow TCPS protocols to ensure student and staff safety.

We have noticed huge gains in our students this past month and look forward to watching our Chapel Cheetahs progress even further. We are headed into October #CDES STRONG!

How We Recognize Students at CDES for Positive Behavior!

Students at CDES can be recognized with a Positive Office Referral by any staff member for showing their P.A.W.S. Students can receive a positive office referral by going above and beyond every day to show their P.A.W.S.!

*Pay attention

*Act responsibly

*Work to do their best

*Show respect

Students can also receive small P.A.W.S. daily when they follow school rules. Students then write their name on these P.A.W.S. coupons, which go into their classroom envelope for weekly drawings for the prize cart on Fridays.
