Principal's Message
Dear MM Families,
It is hard to believe that we are nearing the end of the 2019-2020 school year and no one could imagine we would be ending in distance learning!
Please be sure to acknowledge any sixth grade students you know as this school year's closing has been especially difficult for them. The school will be recognizing their achievements through a variety of virtual activities and videos, as well as holding a Year End Clap Off for them.
I would like to bring to your attention the section below on Student Personal Belongings Pick-Up. Per Governor Wolf's Reopening Plan, we are currently in yellow and are still unable to allow visitors and families into the buildings. As a result, the district has established new protocols for picking up your child's personal belongings.
The teachers will be closing out their classrooms on June 10th and 11th on a staggered schedule so please be aware, they may not be available to respond to questions for a period of time on either of those days. The teachers will be packing up the student personal belongings from their desks and cubbies (including instruments). Items will be placed into plastic bags and will be distributed curbside from the front entrance on Friday, June 12th.
Please be sure to read the DETAILS you need to know below.
Stay safe, stay well, stay positive,
Rebecca

FOR ESSENTIAL WORKERS ONLY: Essential workers who won’t have the ability to get to MMW on June 12th or during their designated time frame, feel free to show up at any time between 8:00am and 4:00pm. If June 12th simply doesn’t work, email me directly. Thank You for all of your service during these difficult times!
Please be sure to read the following prior to coming to MMW and adhere to the following to ensure a smooth pick up for all!
- PRIOR TO COMING TO SCHOOL: On a piece of paper, write down your child(ren)’s last name first , then first name in LARGE print, so that we can easily view your last name from the curb. W will be maintaining social distancing and not approaching your vehicle to ask the name.
- Enter the front entrance drive as you would a car rider. Follow the cones, which loops around the side of the building and then to the front. Please stay within the orange cones.
- Please stay in your vehicle. Social distancing guidelines will be practiced during the distribution to families.
- Pop your trunk or rear passenger window, the bag(s) will be placed by staff into your vehicle. We wish to have minimal contact (if any).
- Drive away - please do not socialize with staff, we will be busy retrieving student belongings and wish to keep the traffic moving as quickly as possible.
- Do not drop off school items at this time. (for example library books, text books, or Chromebooks). These items will be kept by families until school reopens.
Items not picked up will be stored at school until school resumes.
If you are unable to pick up items, but will have another family pick-up your bags, please post both last names in your windshield. Due to traffic flow, we are unable to give each vehicle more than 2 families belongings at a time. You are welcomed to rejoin the car line to gather items for additional families.
Thank you in advance for your flexibility and patience as we distribute student belongings.
6th Grade Clap-Off
Some protocols that will be in place:
- Social distancing will be adhered to
- No one is permitted to leave their vehicles
- There is no stopping, it is strictly drive through
- Teachers will line up along the curb
- The bus circle entrance and drive will be used, traffic will proceed up the right of the drive, follow the circle and leave the drive on the left
- Traffic will flow best if vehicles come into the drive on the right and leave on the left, so that no vehicles need to make left hand turns.
We look forward to seeing our 6th graders!
