A Message from Principal Boucher
SLPHS Families,
The transition back to the Modified Campus (hybrid) learning model has gone well over the last week. Staff working at school are glad to be able to support students learning in-person as the end of the trimester approaches.
This is the week to request any changes to a student’s learning model for trimester 3. We need any requests made to the SLPHS main office (763-600-5100) by the end of the day Friday, February 26. It is very important that we know which students will be in each learning model as we finalize our plans and work through any adjustments to trimester 3 courses based on the number of students in each learning model. Please keep these things in mind as you make any requests.
- By continuing in or requesting Modified Campus (hybrid) model, you will be selecting to return to full-time, in-person learning at school when we are able to transition.
- Students who continue in – or request – Extended Flexible Learning for trimester 3 will remain in distance learning.
- Any change request will impact your student’s teachers and class rosters.
We continue our planning toward a transition to full-time learning at school and will have more to share by March 3. Among the many factors we are considering related to health and safety is the ability to maintain physical distance of six feet and no less than three feet. This, and other health and safety guidance, is a significant element of our planning.
I hope you saw that we are having a virtual Career Expo for all students in grades 9-12 on March 31, 9 a.m.-noon. This is an easy way for students to learn more about different careers and to connect directly with employers about what they do, what kind of talent they are looking for and more. Please encourage your student to attend – and/or attend with them – the morning of March 31. This is for SLP students only and a tremendous partnership with Anoka County and MetroNorth Chamber of Commerce. Our students are not going to want to miss it!
Finally, the Panthers for a Purpose virtual giving event is this Saturday, February 27 at 7 p.m. (There is a silent auction that opens today and will remain open until 8:30 p.m. on Saturday) Take a peek of what to expect during the program in the video included in today’s newsletter. You are not going to want to miss this free, fun program which also supports a good cause. I hope you will tune in.
