Dear Hornet Nation,
This week's Hornet Buzz is full of a variety of important information that you need moving forward including dates for student's return to school. More information on the hybrid and virtual schedule will be available in the coming weeks. Just a reminder that if a student plans to change their original status on returning to school or staying virtual, you need to either contact the school's main office and or email the student's assistant principal. No need to contact the school if there no changes to the original request. Have a great week and remember...

Senior Spotlight
Haley Fuentes
Haley's smile lights up any room! She is hard-working, determined, and selfless. While this senior year looks very different than we could have ever imagined Haley continues to her best with her academics and continues to work towards her goals. She misses her friends and Cheering greatly but is still hopeful to be able to walk the halls of GMHS once again and put on her cheer uniform one last time.
Kaitlyn Bird
She has a heart of gold and no matter who you are if she sees you need help she will help.
Antonio Banks
Antonio Banks:
Antonio Banks is the most kind, loving, caring person. He is always there to give a helping hand without being asked. He makes his family proud.
In order to participate in “Senior Spotlight”, parents can email a picture of their senior and a short biography (50 words or less) to jnruby@smcps.org with the subject line “Senior Spotlight”. Please include the full name of your senior in the email.
Helpful Information for Academics
Students~please make sure you are logging into all of their platforms through Clever. This cuts down on browser confusion and allows for the single-sign-on to work as designed.
Grades~Understanding how to access your grades on Schoology is a very important skill. Use the following resources from the SMCPS Student Schoology course to help you.
Parents~The Parent/Guardian Resources for Schoology contains information on how to view and access your Schoology portal. Below are a few highlights:
GMHS Media Center
English Workbook and Art Supplies Drive-Thru Pick-Up: February 4, 12:00-4:00
If your English class uses the white consumable workbook titled My Perspectives, it's time to get a copy of Volume 2. This includes all grade levels, 9-12.
Pick-up will be on Thursday, February 4 from 12:00-4:00. Stay in your car and drive-thru to the pick-up area in front of the main office entrance.
If you plan to return for in-person instruction, you may wait until you return to school to pick up your copy. The workbook is also available online through Clever.
If you have questions or concerns, your English teacher will be able to provide clarification.
In addition, Ms. Bowen and Ms. Miller's art students can pick up their second round of art supplies.
