IDOE Family Friendly Schools Designation Survey

The Indiana Department of Education (IDOE) Family Friendly Schools Designation is a state recognition program for schools that excel in engaging families and communities in their children’s education. The purpose of the program is to focus on addressing the academic, physical, emotional, and social needs of students while providing necessary resources and fostering the active involvement of families through schools and the community.

We need your help gathering information through the survey provided by IDOE. All responses are anonymous. Please complete this survey before the end of January. Thanks for your help!

21st Century Scholars Information

7th and 8th grade parents: Your children may be eligible for a college scholarship! Indiana's 21st Century Scholars program offers income-eligible students up to four years of paid tuition at an eligible Indiana college or university after they graduate from high school, depending upon financial need. Don't let this awesome opportunity pass by without applying for the program. The deadline to apply is June 30 of the student's 8th grade year. Go online to apply at Scholars.IN.gov or fill out the attached paper application and return to Mrs. Maxey.

Washington DC Trip and Fundraiser (7th Grade can participate)

There is still room on the buses! If you have not registered your student for this great educational and fun opportunity, please do so ASAP! You can call Jackie's Travel at 812-482-7158 to save a seat and get more information.

We are also having another fundraiser to help with the cost of this trip. 8th Graders that are going on the trip can participate in the fundraiser. If your child's trip is already paid in full, you will receive the profits. If it is not, profits will be applied to the balance owed. We encourage all 7th graders to participate in this fundraiser. If your child decides not to go on the trip next year, any profits will be put in the 8th Grade DC Trip general fund to be used for items needed for the trip (class sweatshirts) or to help offset the cost for a student that might have a financial need.

Welcoming Wildcats

A new group has been started at JMS to help with two specific missions: 1) to provide students who are new to our school with a welcome gift that includes a few Jasper spirit pieces and 2) to help students throughout the year who need clothing items provided for them. Our first initiative is to help get more spirit wear out to people . . . parents, siblings, grandparents, students . . . so that everyone has a chance to show their Jasper pride. We have set up an online store for people to purchase from. A portion of all sales will go into the Welcoming Wildcats fund. Additionally, on the store is a DONATE button where people can simply donate to our mission if they don’t want to purchase anything or in addition to their purchase. Please check out the online store at THIS LINK. Or, see the attached flyer. There are items at various price points, quality, and name brands.

Josten's Commitment to Graduate Program and orders

Your student recently participated in the Jasper Class Of 2027’s Commitment to Graduate Program. During this presentation the value of getting their high school diploma was emphasized. The entire class shared in signing a banner which will be hung as a reminder of their commitment to graduate.

Your child was given an envelope with information about 9th grade and an order form for all of the Jasper Class Of 2027 gear. You can either fill in that order form and turn it in at school or go online to place your order at:

https://jasper2027.itemorder.com/

If you have any questions you are welcome to contact Jostens @ (812) 757-5737 or office@sakelcampus.com
