SAMR Model - Substitution
Last week's IT Connection was all about the SAMR Model. (Click here to review!) For the next few weeks we'll be exploring each component of the SAMR Model to dig into how you can use instructional technology to its fullest potential to enhance your classroom.
This week's focus is substitution: a useful level in the Model for using technology to make life easier in the learning environment. There is definitely a place for substitution in the 21st century classroom. EdSurge says, "although these activities engage students and enhance learning, the level of tech integration is low: teachers are just substituting technology for things you could do without technology."
