May - A Time for Growth and Reflection
As we begin reflecting on this school year, it feels like there were many peaks and valleys that came with it. It has been a strong school year to be proud of, but it wasn't without some bumps along the way. Northside staff continue to problem-solve, collaborate, and grow in creative and inspiring ways.
The end of the school year brings reflection. I am thankful for the opportunity to grow where we have been planted. It'd be easy to become negative, or use any given situation as an excuse for one thing or another. Instead, we can come out on the other end of another school year changed for the better having learned something we may not have otherwise. Please thank our staff for what they're doing, and let others know the incredible things happening at Northside!
Please let us know how we are doing. If you have any questions or concerns, don’t hesitate to contact me. It's an honor to be in partnership with you during this time. Our circumstances may change, but our mission will not.

The sun is out, the air is getting warmer, and the end of the school year is quickly coming to an end. Students are ready for summer vacation and are getting restless, so are the adults! This time of year can be a challenge for parents, trying to keep your child motivated this last month of school. Here are a few tips to keep your child engaged and on track to finish the year strong!
- Acknowledge that this is a difficult time and praise your child for staying on task and completing their work.
- Continue to maintain a routine for both homework and bedtime.
- Communicate with your child about their day. Show them that you are still interested and engaged in their learning. Ask questions about their day and what topics they discussed in their classes.
- Spend some time outdoors after school. Your child spends the majority of his/her day indoors. Encourage them to get off their devices and get outside.
- Find fun ways or incentives to motivate your child. Maybe a trip to get ice cream if they get all their work done!
- As the school year winds down, reflect with your child how they think this year went. What were some of the successes and what were some of the challenges? Try to come up with some ideas or goals for next year.
