Instructional Technology Update

From the East Irondequoit Central School District

iPads in the Classroom

This is the first year that every student in the East Irondequoit Central School District has received an iPad for classroom instruction. Overall we could not be happier regarding the direction of the iPad initiative across the district. We are very excited about how our students and teachers are leveraging technology in the classroom and we are confident that we will continue to see the increase in student engagement in learning as students research the world beyond the classroom walls.

Schoology is our Learning Management System (LMS)

Last spring we piloted the LMS, Schoology in several of our classrooms with the expectation that all of our students and teachers would be regularly using Schoology by February 2016. We are excited to share that our teachers and students have exceeded our expectations for usage from the start and we continue to be impressed by how our teachers are engaging our East Irondequoit students both in the classroom and outside of the traditional classroom setting.
