The Patriot Way
August 14, 2023 Vol. 1
Front Office Notes
Patriot Nation,
Welcome back! 2023-24 kicked off with a great start. We have much to be excited about after only three days of school. Classrooms are buzzing, we have many new students to the building, activities are a full-go, and the weather is great!
First, we welcome a few new staff members to the building this year. Brett Springer joins us from the Bismarck, Illinois area to teach Algebra II. Mindy Hunter returns to us to teach Social Studies 8, English 10, and AP Literature. Haley Briles joins the Special Education department as an instructional aide. They have adjusted quickly and glad they are a part of the Seeger family.
Mr. Cotten had meetings with Seniors, 9-11 grade students, and vocational students. Mr. Wolfe met with the junior high. They covered expectations, schedules, and tips for the year. All students should have received their new chromebooks as well. If there are any tech issues, please report to the Tech Department in Room 15.
Here are a few Beginning of the Year Reminders:
There were many updates to the handbook over the summer. Students covered these highlights during first period on Wednesday. This is located on our school website or here.
If students are being dropped-off or picked-up by a personal vehicle, please use the Front Office doors. Any items that need to be given students throughout the day, there is a table for drop-off in the front office foyer.
Lunch accounts can be updated by students when they go through the lunchline. The registers will accept cash or check. Cafeteria payments are not accepted via Harmony.
If a student is going to be absent, the PARENT/GUARDIAN must be the one to call in the absence for the student.
School Pictures will be Tuesday, September 19th, with a make up day on September 20th.
As we kick-off the first week, continue to be mindful of when our kids go to bed, routines for extra-curriculars, and limited screen time prior to bed.
We are excited to get another school year going. Our hope is that every one of our students enjoys school and gets great education.
Have a great week!
Best Regards,
Seeger Administration

Hello, my name is Carey Harris and I am the nurse for Seeger Jr./Sr. High School. I just wanted to refresh parents and kids on some things that would be helpful for me to best serve our student population.
-Please report any injuries your child has to Nurse Carey (765-893-4445 ext 2108). This is helpful for your child to have restrictions in place at school if they have a medical device such as crutches and/or a boot.
-If your child sustains an injury I must get a letter of clearance once they are fully cleared to participate in PE and sports.
-If your child is an athlete, we do have an Athletic Trainer after school hours. They will not be permitted to see the trainer during class instruction time.
-If your child is sick at school it is the expectation that you will have someone pick them up at Door 23 at the front of the school. They are not to attend any extra-curricular activities if they did not come to school due to an illness and until they are 24 hours fever free without the use of Tylenol or Ibuprofen and have not experienced vomiting or diarrhea for 24 hours.
-Midol is available in the Nursing office now and I will call/text you to get approval to be given for your daughter. If your child is allergic to Midol please reach out and let me know.
-Medications are to be stored in the nurse's office. This includes Tylenol, Ibuprofen, Midol, prescription medication, and medicated creams. If your child has a rescue inhaler an Asthma Action Plan must be updated with Nurse Carey. If your child has an Epi-Pen, your child must have a doctor's note to carry this on them.
-PE is required for our students. Please send appropriate hygiene products with your child. If this is an issue please let me know.
Thank you for trusting me to help take care of your children. It has been an amazing experience so far!
