Dear VBL Families,

We have reached the end of the first quarter and will be sending report cards home next week. You don't have to wait for us though, please take a moment to sit down with your child, look at their Powerschool grades recognize the hard work and efforts from our students.

We have postponed the Color Run and hope you can join us to walk or run on November 6th!

This event will raise funds for our Be Kind Mural as well as bring our community together for some fun family time. All ages and participants are welcome. This will be located at VIC. You can sign up here! Early registrants will receive sunglasses to wear!

Spirit week starts this Monday! Monday is TWIN DAY!

Thank you for taking the time to conference with our fabulous teachers this week. If you were not able to meet with teachers and would like to, please reach out and we can schedule a time.

September 24th THERE WILL BE NO ELECTIVES OR SCHOOL due to Staff Professional Development.

No School: Our Fall Break will begin on September 27th and continue to October 8th. WOW! I can't believe we are nearly finished with the first quarter.

Thank you to our PTSO for scheduling fundraiser events this year! Mod Pizza was a success and our fall movie night is coming soon!

Thank you for all of the diaper donations for our Vail School District Diaper Drive. We are still collecting Diapers and at this time our 6th grade class has taken the lead with donations. All donations are welcome and needed. Please send some diapers in with your student.

Mrs. Lotti (ELA/SS), Ms. Eguia (Math) and Mr. Sherwood (Science) have great activities planned for you this week. Please read their newsletters each Friday for more detailed information. In addition, Edmentum is assigned each Monday and is due before the following Monday. Ideally, students should be using their Learning Lab time to complete the Edmentum assignments and minimize home work or weekend work.

Students must be successful with mastering material in Edmentum before the following week in order to have the knowledge needed for class each day.

Our school day starts at 9:00 and ends at 3:30. Students will enter through the back gate each morning and will be dismissed at the appropriate door for either pick up or bus transportation. Please do not drop your student off prior to 8:30. There will not be supervision before that.

At this time, masks will be optional, and highly recommended. There will be hand sanitizer available in all classrooms, restrooms and hallways. If this changes, I will let you know.

Thank you for partnering with me this year and supporting our students' success!

Kristin Murray
