Walking to park and running at park helps build our heart and legs stronger. Going on the monkey bars and climbing on the jungle gym helps build our muscles stronger.

HOW MUCH SHOULD WE MOVE TO STAY HEALTHY?
6-17 year olds should be moving 60 minutes or more a day. You should feel your heart beating fast!
3 times a week- muscle strengthening
3 times a week- bone strengthening
3 times a week- lose your breathWHAT SHOULD I EAT?
Fruits, Vegetables, Grains, Protein, Dairy, and Oils
HOW MUCH SHOULD I EAT?
Half your plate should be fruits and vegetables.
Kids ages 4-13 should have 1.5 cups of fruit a day or one piece of fruit.

Half of your grains should be brown or tan in color. These are called whole grains.
Kids ages 4-13 should have half an ounce a day. This is 1/16th of a cup of grains a day.Protein
This group includes meat, chicken, seafood, beans and eggs.
Kids ages 4-13 should have a fourth of an an ounce a day. This is 1/32 of a cup of protein a day.
Dairy
This group includes milk, cheese and yogurt.
Kids ages 4-8 should have 2 and a half cups a day.
Oils
This group included vegetable oil, olive oil and butter.
Kids should only have 4 teaspoons of oils a day.
