Please see the updated March 25th date as being a full day of school for elementary students following our 2020-2021 hours. Early Childhood will not be in attendance on that day. Here is a link to the D303 School Calendar with this updated change. It now shows March 25th as a regular full day of school for students.
Raffle Basket Donations Needed
Each year the Greater St. Charles Education Foundation hosts a Gala to help raise funds. In this craziest of years, they have decided to change up their Silent Auction a bit. They are forgoing the traditional Gala and looking for creative ways to raise money from afar so that they can continue to support important needs of teachers and students of D303, through grants and scholarships. This school year they will hold a silent auction digitally on March 20th and then (fingers crossed) a fun Spring outdoor event that will involve supporting local businesses as well as raising money for the Foundation!
Each year our PTO contributes a basket to be auctioned off that is valued at $150-$300. In a normal year, the PTO would cover the funds to put together the basket on our own. With funds being lower this year, due to a lack of in person events, we are asking for our community’s help in putting together our basket. Our theme for our basket is Fireside. We have purchased a firepit to get our basket started. Attached is a list of items we are looking to have donated. If you are willing to help donate an item, please click on the new and improved link to sign up. All items should be brought to the Anderson School Office by Friday, February 19th. Thanks for your help in supporting our Foundation.
Why is the Greater St. Charles Foundation so important to Anderson School?
The foundation provides grants and scholarships to staff and students in our school district. Here are just a few ways their support has directly affect our students:
This year they were able to fund $10k towards outdoor wifi access points for all the schools!
A grant helped fund the sensory break path that can be found down the main hallway of our school.
A grant funded special movable desks, that students can both stand and sit at, in one of our 5th grade classrooms.
Our teachers are already writing grants to get more support this school year!
