Message from Mrs. Martin, your principal
It has been great connecting again with so many of our students and families this week through class meetings, office hours, and other meetings. I want to say thank you to our parents and guardians. I know that supporting your child(ren) at home during remote learning has been a learning curve for everyone at home. However, through the transition and stress, I have seen so many celebrations, for example:
- Parents/guardians and students reaching out for support from our teachers and support staff
- Creativity with science and STEM creations
- Home learning stations or desks set up for students to stay organized and learn
- Parents/guardians supporting students with daily class meetings-it is great to see family members pop in.
- Students sharing stories during class meetings
- Increased reading minutes using Lexia
- Attendance continues to grow each week
Thank you, you are all doing a wonderful job with remote learning. As we continue to navigate remote learning through May 15, we are here to support your learning. I continue to be so impressed by our Bishop students, families, and staff. Keep up the great work.
Teacher/Staff Appreciation
Each May, we celebrate and say "Thank you" to our Bishop staff with an appreciation week. This year, appreciation week will be May 4-8. Be thinking about some options of how you can "say" thank you to your teacher or a Bishop staff member while we learn remotely. Next week, all families will receive a spirit week calendar and class meeting topics that will be focused on celebrating our staff! We hope you all can participate.
In preparation, we would love to gather photos of you saying thank you to the Bishop staff. If you are able to write a thank you sign and take a picture, please send it to shanna_martin@engschools.net. We will share these with our staff on May 4 to kick off the week!
Thank you again for your continued support and collaboration with our Bishop Community to support your students! Please reach out with any questions or concerns.
Your principal,
Shanna Martin
