The north was cold during the winter but warm and hot during the summer. Since it was cold during the winter the north was mostly based on factories and big business.
The south was warm or hot all year around which made it the best place for agriculture.
Most of the population of America lived in the south but not a lot of people owned slaves.
Philadelphia was the capital of the north and a big factory city in the north
Richmond was the capital of the south and had some businesses to but mostly was about agriculture like most of the south
