Circus Maximus was made a wood at first. But after it was burnt down 3 time they decided to build it with marble and concreate.In length it was 2,037 feet and width 387 feet.
Created by
The king of Rome Tarquin Priscus. He made it to celebrate the victory over the Latins. The celebrations became known as the " Ludi Romani" or Roman games.
The Circus Maximus could hold 250,000 people and it was free admision so anybody could watch. It was an honor to race in the Circus Maximus.
Activities
It was a chariot racing stadium and may other ancient Rome games. Between races there was acrobatics and extoic animal fighting. Anything goes in the Circus Maximus.
