Voting qualifications
- To vote you must be 18 years old
- To vote you must be a citizen of the United States
- You have to be registered to vote in the State you wish to vote in
- Must be a resident of the country, and lived in the country for at least 30 days prior to the date of the election.
Ways to register to vote
- In North Carolina you can vote in person, by mail, or fax
Registration Deadlines in North Carolina
- Each state has a deadline which is around 20-30 days prior to the election
- North Carolina's deadline is 25 days prior to the election
Military, overseas, and out of state registration
- For citizens like these who may not be able to get to the poll on election day, there is an absentee ballot.
- This is a ballot that is mailed in advance of an election by a voter who is unable to be present at the polls
