Marshall LMS Update

Bray's Bulletin

A Message from Mrs. Bray

Dear LMS Ram Family:

I hope that all of our students had a great first week of school. It was just wonderful seeing all of our Rams back on campus and ready to learn. Please note the date below for the Parent Engagement Group Meeting on Tuesday, September 14th at 6:30 p.m. via Zoom. This is a great way for parents to stay involved with Marshall LMS. The Marshall community will also host the Marshall Meet the Teacher Night on Wednesday, September 22nd at 6:00 the Marshall High School campus. More information will be forthcoming in the next few weeks. We hope to see you there. This week we hosted our first Pep Rally and football game. Way to go Rams as we beat the Brahmas 61 - 0. Finally, as many of you know Ms. Ethridge, Campus Programs Coordinator, will be retiring this week. It is bittersweet for the staff at LMS as Ms. Ethridge has been an integral part of building programs and working with students at Marshall LMS. We wish her well on her new adventures. She will be missed. Please note that on Wednesday and Thursday of this week all 9th and 10th grade students will be attending grade level assemblies. On Thursday and Friday of this week Mr. Gonzales and I will be visiting CTE classrooms to discuss specific expectations for students attending the Marshall Law and Medical Services Magnet School. As we make the transition to being Northside Reunited please know we are just a phone call or an email away.

District Mask Mandate Update

Northside ISD is aware of a ruling today, Aug. 26, by the Texas Supreme Court that temporarily blocks San Antonio and Bexar County’s mask mandate order. After speaking with our legal counsel, we understand that this ruling does not impact other orders across the state suspending enforcement of the mask portions of GA-38. While the legal debate continues, NISD remains committed to keeping the health and safety of students, staff, and visitors to our facilities a priority.

Therefore, the temporary mask mandate unanimously approved by the NISD Board of Trustees on Aug. 17 will remain in place. This temporary mask mandate applies to all students, staff, and visitors while indoors at all district facilities and on school buses.

We believe that we have an ethical obligation to our students and staff to keep them safe. We also believe that the universal use of face coverings prevents illness and quarantine that takes students and staff away from in-person instruction.
