Note from the President
Welcome Back!
Dear fellow School Counselors,
Welcome back to a new school year. I hope you all have had a smooth transition into a new year with your staff and students. Oftentimes in our jobs, we are fortunate to hear the great, fun things students did over the summer. Yet, also while catching up with students, we hear that some may have encountered tragedy. Through all of life’s ups and downs we are there for the students. I know that we will all do the best we possibly can to ensure that all our students’ academic, social/emotional, and college and career needs are met. Have a great year! ~ Suzanne Scott WySCA President

ASCA UPDATES STANDARDS TO “MINDSETS AND BEHAVIORS”
If you haven’t already heard, ASCA is in the process of updating the Student Standards to “The ASCA Mindsets and Behaviors for Student Success: K-12 College- and Career-Readiness Standards for Every Student.” A draft version can be found at http://www.schoolcounselor.org/asca/media/asca/home/MindsetsBehaviors.pdf
A finalized version is supposed to be ready by this fall.
