November 18 and November 25, 2022

Thanksgiving Break - No School

This is a reminder that KCS is closed beginning Wednesday, November 23rd. We will return to school on Monday, November 28th. We wish everyone a wonderful, safe, restful, and healthy 5 day break. Happy Thanksgiving from us to you! Many blessings.

Attendance Challenge

What: Attendance Competition between homeroom classes

When: October 17 - November 22

Reward: Donuts for the homeroom in each grade level with the highest attendance percentages during those days

Items needed

  • Our STEM classes are in desperate need of unwanted electronics. We will take whatever you have that kids can take apart. We have very few things to reverse engineer at this time.
  • Our clothes closet is in need of the following: joggers/sweatpants (girls/boys, all sizes). As you are cleaning out or shopping, help us stock our clothes closet with elastic waist pants. We will be happy to take items that are gently used or new.

Spelling Bee

The written qualifying round for the John Sevier Spelling Bee will be held on December 6th. Students can either participate at 7:05 or 3:00 that afternoon. Students need to see their Language Arts teacher or Mrs. Donnellan for a study list to prepare. The school-wide bee will be held in January.

8th grade to DB/DB EXCEL

8th Grade Parents,

Your child will be bringing home a permission slip for the DB/DB EXCEL field trip that will take place on 11/29/22. Please ensure your child arrives at Sevier before the tardy bell rings on this day. Also, it is important that students are not picked up early on this day as we will be in and out of the building throughout the day. We will be going to DBE from 8:30 to 11:00 and then DB from 12:15-2:30.

Hello from the Sevier PTA

Happy Friday Warrior Nation!

Almost every year before the Christmas holiday break, the KCS Family Resource Center and Homeless Education Program assist in providing holiday food assistance to some of our students/families in our district. Schools/PTA are invited to partner with them as a service project/opportunity for our students. The food that is collected supplements the students' diets while they are out of school for two weeks and not receiving free school meals. Many of our families find providing an additional 20 meals per student during the break to be a huge financial burden. If you are interested in donating please see the flyer below "December Food Drive'. Please note the food drive is actually occurring in November, but will be given to our families in December. There will be a box located in the office for donations. Please have items turned in by November 28th.

Thanks so much for all the support for our JSMS PTA. We truly appreciate it.

As always stay Warrior Proud!

  • Students who are signed up for the DC Trip can bring in their second payment to either Mr. Moore or Mrs. Bingham. The second payment is $200.

  • Please keep your contact information updated. This can be done through your Aspen Parent Portal or by contacting LeAnn Franklin in the counseling office, 378-2435 or lfranklin@k12k.com. It's vitally important that we have current contact phone numbers and a correct address for each student.
  • You MUST present an ID when visiting Sevier or checking out your student.
  • If you know your child is going to be absent, please email ewilliams@k12k.com, you can do this rather than calling the school. If you prefer to call, please call 423.378.2450 as early as possible on the day of the absence.
