This four-day course is designed to provide peer mediator program coordinators with the information and skills essential to developing, implementing, and coordinating a peer-led mediation program. The training is appropriate for teachers, counselors, assistant principals, or other administration staff, leadership program advisors, after-school program staff, or professionals who work within youth organizations.
Training components include implementation and coordination, training techniques, and how to secure and prepare faculty support of the program. The course covers selection criteria for youth and guidelines for maintaining an effective mediation program.
In addition to training, participants will have the opportunity to meet coordinators from other schools, share program ideas, and create materials. Coordinators will also have a chance to get together and exchange ideas. Participants will receive:

In addition, an option for consulting and trouble shooting problems is available during the school year through an additional fee.
