What I have learned about the election process
Presidential Elections
- There are two candidates running for president (Romney and Obama)
- Popular vote is who wins the most votes
- Electoral College is the process that actually determines the president (candidates must receive at least 270 votes to win the election)
- Elections are head every four years
- Voters pick their nominee on a ballot
- to become president you must first win from the primary elections which are held months before
- presidential candidates have to be natural-born citizens of the US and at least 35 years old
