Creating a Culture of Excellence!!
Message to our Families from FSLW Stacey McLennan
Dear families,
As my time in New Norway as the Family School Liaison Worker draws to a close, I want to express my sincere appreciation to the school and to the community for the last five years at New Norway School. I have been honored and blessed to work alongside incredible staff and am so honored to have worked with the students and families in our school community. My new role as Program Manager with BRSD's Mental Health Capacity Building Program will allow me to continue to find creative ways to serve our school's to enhance student mental health with a continued focus on social emotional learning.
My journey at New Norway School is filled with many beautiful memories and I will miss the smiles, the hugs and the heart that continues to shine through so brightly each and every day. The spirit of what it means to be a Spartan will always be imprinted on me and may each of you be proud of the person you are and the difference you make.
Go Spartans!
Take good care,
Stacey McLennan

Student Verification forms
Hello BRSD families!
Students from across the world want to join us in Battle River School Division. Are you able to help welcome them?
We are seeking caring families to host students in their home during the 2023-2024 school year. International Student placements can range from one month to the full school year in duration, so you can choose an option that works for your family.
Right now, we have students who will be joining us from Germany, Belgium, Spain and other European countries, as well as from Asia and South America. Hosting an International Student can change their life for the better and will give your family the chance to learn more about other cultures and countries as well. Lifelong connections and friendships can be made.
There is a $700 per month stipend provided to help offset costs.
To find out more about the International Student Homestay Program, please contact Gail Rombough by email at homestay@brsd.ab.ca or by phone at 780-781-0615.
Thank you for considering this opportunity!
