Randle Round Up
Principal's Message
Dear Lion Families,
I hope you have been able to enjoy this amazing weather we are having! It is actually beginning to feel like Fall! Friday wrapped up the first week of the new six weeks. Report cards have been made viewable in Skyward!
I wanted to restate the importance of safety and security for our campus. We will announce daily the importance of ID's, having your agendas, and keeping doors closed and locked at all times. We take all tips and threats (real or fake) very seriously. So if you choose to disrupt this campus, you are asking to be removed from Randle High School. These matters are taken very seriously and will not be tolerated. Our administrative team is working extra hard to up hold the expectations of Randle High School. Randle High school will be a place where all students and staff feel safe. Lions, we need your help and support, if you see something or hear something, (even if you think it may not be true) you must report it to an adult. This provides campus administration the best opportunity to investigate the concern.
We will continue to practice safety drills each month. It is imperative that all staff and students keep all the exterior doors locked during the day, by not opening it or propping it open at any time. Everyone MUST walk around to the front of the building, if the door is locked.
Everyone is expected adhere to the expectations of wearing those ID's every day. All students must keep airpods/ear buds out of your ears during all instructional time and during the transitions to and from classes. If you are receiving a new ID the cost is will be $5 dollars. As stated before there is a hold on your exemptions until this is paid. I would like to recognize the majority of our student body who have and are wearing their ID's. Keep leading by example, you are doing your part to make Randle great!
Finally, we are extending the spirit packages until OCTOBER 26, 2022. Many parents have stated they are having difficulty making payments on line. Please contact Ms. Villafranco at 832-223-5800 and she will provide any assistance you may need.
With a new six weeks beginning on Monday, it also means a clean slate on tardies. Being punctual is a key component to being successful. Being on time to class is an expectation. Below is the campus tardy policy. Please review the policy and campus expectation with your students.
- Tardies: Tardy students must have tardy pass to enter the classroom. Teacher collects tardy pass and discards the pass, so it is no longer used as a pass.
- 1st - 4th Tardy offenses are warnings.
- 5th Offense: Lunch Detention
- 6th Offense: Lunch Detention
- 7th Offense: Lunch Detention
- 8th Offense: Saturday School
- 9th “+” Offense: ISS
We want everyone on the same page. We are here to help. Our goal is to help you and your student achieve their goals.
Sincerely,
John Montelongo

Campus Highlights
We Appreciate Our TRHS Family
This week we celebrated our amazing Custodial Family, our amazing Instructional coaches and Teacher of the month.
Our Custodians work while we sleep. That’s why we love this day, National Custodian Day, which rolls around every October 2. It recognizes the hard work that it takes to keep our facilities in tip-top shape. So, on National Custodian Day, we showed appreciation to the custodians who take care of our campus daily. !
In honor of National Instructional Coach Appreciation Day, we would like to take this moment to give thanks to our instructional coaches. As lifelong learners, our coaches support our teachers by providing them with tailored professional development so that we can continue the level of academic excellence that make our schools so great.
Thank you instructional coaches for ensuring the success of our teachers and students.
New to our Royal program the kids pick a teacher each month they find to be outstanding. Our very first ever Teacher of the Month for the Month of September is Mrs. Amanda Steeves.
Overall sentiments in the program regarding Mrs. Steeves is that she is extremely sweet, kind, and caring; that she takes the time to build relationships with her students; that she treats students the way she would want to be treated; that every student is treated with kindness and respect; that many see her as a second mom; that she is very understanding and flexible; and she makes her class a safe space for ALL students.

The Mane Market is Open!
We have been so proud of our Lions for all of the great things they have done this year. Students have been getting to class on time, wearing ID's, and working hard in class. Mr. Montelongo has incorporated a school store just for our students. This store has snacks, drinks, Randle gear, and much more. Again, this is for the students who earned it by doing all the right things on campus and as a birthday appreciation gift from Mr. Montelongo.
With that being said, we have opened the Mane Market for students. At any given time students can receive Lion Loot or tokens. Campus leaders and selected teachers have been giving out these tokens to students. These tokens are also sent with a birthday card each month. Tokens are used to purchase items from the Mane Market.
Parents At Randle (PAR)
We had our 2nd Parents At Randle (PAR) interest meeting. We had an amazing turnout with our 3rd meeting taking place October 19, 2022. The focus of the PAR is to work collaboratively in creating learning opportunities for our students.
The PAR is for everyone and we hope you can come October 19, 2022 at 7:00 PM in the Library.
ID cards and Student Agendas
IDs and agendas are a requirement. All students are expected to wear their ID's daily. In order to leave the class for any reason, every student must be wearing an ID and have their agenda completed and signed by the teacher.
SAFETY MATTERS
THIS IS IN FULL EFFECT FOR ALL EXTERIOR DOORS THIS YEAR!
THIS IS IN FULL EFFECT FOR ALL EXTERIOR DOORS THIS YEAR!
- Do not knock or beat on doors in order to enter the building.
- You must walk around and enter through the front entrance.
- Leaving a door propped open is a safety hazard.
- All doors must be locked and closed at all times.
PICTURE ID SMART TAG REQUIRED FOR ALL LCISD STUDENTS AND EMPLOYEES!
This year ID's ARE MANDATORY! $5 replacement charges are in place now!
ID's (lanyards and a protective case) have all been passed out and MUST be worn and visible at all times! If you do not have one, you must see Dr. Bogarty first thing in the morning for a replacement. We will start doing ID sweeps this week, and anyone without one will be charged $5 and given a new one. This is NOT optional, as it is part of dress code. If you keep losing it you will KEEP being charged. We will be sending weekly "fine" email reports to your parents. Not paying is not an option, and there will be a hold placed on your final semester grades and exemptions will NOT be an option.ar, as an increase to our safety measures, students and staff are required to wear their identification badge at all times. Student badges will serve as the student ID and SmartTag all in one card. This will happen during the first week!
Cell Phone Policy
Your child's education is of the utmost importance to us, therefore we want to place a priority on minimizing distractions. Beginning Monday, August 22, 2022, Randle High School has instituted a no cell phone policy during class.
Students are allowed to bring cell phones to school and are allowed to use them before school, during lunch, and after school. Phones should not be visible and in use between passing periods or during class, unless students are provided permission by the teacher.
For clarification, cell phones can be in the student's possession, but the phone must be put away during the instruction. If a student has their cell phone visible, without teacher/staff member permission, they will be asked to give their cell phone to the teacher/staff member. They will receive their cell phone at the end of the day from the front office. The following information will be posted in every classroom:
- Phones must be put away at ALL TIMES during instructional time, unless there is an instructional purpose GIVEN by the teacher. If you refuse to follow this expectation, it will result in a discipline referral. (NOTE: Phones are allowable before 8:15 AM, during the student's 30-minute lunch time, and after 3:40 PM.)
- Ignoring a teacher or staff member when they ask that to put away your cell phone will result in a discipline referral.
- All students must have their planner hall pass signed by a teacher to be out of their scheduled class. Students without a pass will receive a discipline referral.
- Instigating, participating, or video recording any type of altercation, harassing/bullying, or any other student code of conduct offenses with your cell phone will result in a discipline referral and possible alternative school placement.
Please know that educating our Randle High School students is our number one priority, and we place a precedence on having a safe and secure school. We appreciate your support and partnership in maintaining an environment and culture where learning is the focus.

SMART TAG INFORMATION
Dear Lion Parents,
This year, as an increase to our safety measures, students and staff are required to wear their identification badge at all times. Student badges will serve as the student ID and SmartTag all in one card.
We will also provide all students and staff with an emergency safety card to be worn with their ID Badge. This requirement is just one of several new safety additions that we are incorporating this year. The safety card contains Lamar CISD's Standard Response Protocol, important emergency numbers, as well as a QR code that links directly to the district’s anonymous tip line. Badges will be distributed with student SMART Tags.
In addition, the LCISD Communications Team has produced a safety video for families that highlights the safety standards that have been in place and what additions have been implemented this year. To access the safety video, CLICK HERE.
