Mrs. Smith’s Snapchat…

Hello Lakeside Families,

The 2020-2021 school year has officially come to an end. It was an amazing year, full of challenges, but way more successes! We celebrated all our students today, but especially our 4th graders. We are very excited for the great things they will accomplish in 5th grade. Now is the time for celebration, relaxation, and reflection so we can make 2021-2022 even more successful!

Have a safe and enjoyable summer! Thank you all for everything that you do to support our AMAZING school!

As always, I thank you for your continued support of Lakeside Elementary! Take care, be safe, and have a great weekend!

fully virtual student textbook / material collections

Student Textbook/Material collection begins the week of May 24. All textbook/materials must be returned to Lakeside.

If you are in doubt as to what to return or have questions on what your student still has at home, please contact our secretary Dee Hamilton at 317-532-2851 or email her at

It is important to turn in materials by Friday, June 4th, to avoid being charged for their replacement.

**Fully virtual students NOT returning to Warren in the Fall should begin returning their technology (including hotspots) beginning, Friday, May 28th.

The Lost and Found bins in the school clinic are

overflowing with items. If your student has lost or

misplaced any personal items such as jackets, coats, hats,

lunch boxes, etc., since January, please have them check the

Lost and Found in the school clinic. Any items not claimed

by the last day of school will be donated to a worthy charity.

Notes from Nurse Wolf

  1. Medication in the Clinic

If your student has any kind of medication in the school clinic, please be sure to pick this up by our last day of school, Monday, May 28. In Warren Township, students grades K-8 are not allowed to transport medication on the school bus; therefore medication must be picked up by a parent or guardian, or someone designated by the parent or guardian over the age of 18 years old. Any medication not picked up by the end of the school day on May 28 will be disposed of appropriately by our school nurse. We cannot keep medications in the clinic over the summer break. Please call Mrs. Wolf at 317- 532-2855 if you have any questions.

iPad App Support

In order to help with some of the recurring app issues some students are experiencing, we ask that you share this quick how-to video in your newsletters so that parents may perform the reset if needed. This reset will put the iPad into the JAMF management system and allow us to ensure there are fewer issues. If they have any issues, they will of course be able to contact us for assistance via the helpdesk or the Moorhead Chromedesk.

Teachers in the classroom are also welcome to do this if they notice an iPad is still on Filewave (our old management software).

The video is linked below. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Student Devices

We are excited to provide students with technology to enhance their learning experiences in the MSD of Warren Township. Each student K-4 is assigned an iPad for virtual and in-person classroom use. Devices will be kept at school and charged in a classroom cart. Students are responsible for the proper care and use of their device. Each device is covered by a district-sponsored insurance program for damage. This keeps charges for both intentional and accidental damages low. Both purposeful and accidental damage will be charged at a reduced rate.

CAR RIDERS/DAYCARE Student Drop-off/Pick-up Procedures

We ask that our parents follow these guidelines to ensure that every student has a safe arrival and dismissal:

All students will be required to be dropped off and picked up through the car rider line to maintain safety standards. Parking at the front and East end of the building and walking children to and from the entrances will not be allowed. We want to prevent children and adults walking through the path of cars or buses on the property at any time.

Staff members will be present outside beginning at 7:55 a.m. each morning for student drop-off. Please do not release your children until a staff member signals the beginning of our process. Students will not be counted tardy until 8:05 a.m. Our afternoon pick-up procedures will begin at 3:00 p.m. If you are in a hurry, you are encouraged to be at or near the front of the line. We will implement our dismissal procedures as quickly and safely as possible for all.

Thank you very much for your support with helping ensure Lakeside maintains safety as our priority during our student entrance and dismissal each day!

The occasion may arise when the school district wants to recognize your child or your child's school. This may include your child's photo, your child's name or your child's work in district publications, newsletters, on school district websites, and in electronic/social media or in staff training videos. We may also want to tell the media (including newspapers, television, and radio) about your child's achievements. We never knowingly release information about a student to anyone who wants to use it for commercial/political purposes. However, we will honor your request to not include your child in these types of recognitions if you notify your child's school office in writing that you do not want this type of information released.
