Glenhope performance
Greenback campaign
This year we would like to again give each grade level an additional $500 to spend on classroom items like math and reading games. With funds left after giving to the grade levels, we will be adding to our "Maker Space" in the library by purchasing STEM items such as Makey-Makey kits, Ozobots, and other coding and building materials. Other teacher requests include Lucy Calkins Reading and Writing Workshop guides (which are about $250 a book!), and natural sunlight light bulbs for interior classrooms. None of these items will be able to be purchased without the generosity of our community!
TRAFFIC
1) Be courteous! Mrs. Hiett has had several instance this week of people yelling at others, honking horns and otherwise displaying rude behavior. We are all models for our children! Please model courteous behavior, even when you are frustrated.
2) Don't go around cars. Again, drivers who are impatient with a car in front of them and decide to go around. Dangerous and unnecessary.
3) When you are waiting on Glenhope Circle North, please do not pull into the crosswalk. We need that open for children to cross the street.
4) The parking lot next to the cafeteria is for staff, handicapped, and 4 purchased parking spots only. Additional drivers in that lot create unsafe conditions for students who walk through on their way to the building.
5) Please don't park on Glenhope Circle North, either morning or afternoon. It makes it nearly impossible for the buses to get through to get to or from the building.

After school option
We have another after-school opportunity for students who are interested in STEM as an extra-curricular option. Bricks 4 Kids is an organization who provides introductory engineering classes for elementary students. There is a fee, and you can learn more about them at their website: http://www.bricks4kidz.com/412
