Fredericksburg is Going to Have a New Community Garden!
Vegetables will soon be growing and flowers will soon be blooming in a new community garden built near the intersection of Fall Hill Avenue and Wicklow Drive, next to the baseball field at Snowden Park.
A number of garden plots will be made available to families living in the Bragg Hill Neighborhood free of charge. Other plots can be rented through the City Parks and Recreation Department.
If you are interested in a garden plot for your family during the upcoming summer, please send the following information to Eric Bonds at ebonds@umw.edu
- Name
- Address
- Phone number
- Email
- Number or children and/or seniors in household.
- Please describe your interest in and/or plan for a garden plot.
- Would you like support for your garden? If so, please indicate below what you would need. (plants, seeds, technical help, etc.)
We will follow up with you regarding the garden plot and support for your garden.
This is a project supported by the University of Mary Washington, Fredericksburg Parks and Recreation, the Community Life Center, and Fredericksburg City Public Schools
Fairy Godmother Project (FGP)
The Fairy Godmother Project (FGP) is looking for student leaders from area high schools willing to spearhead the Heart of Gold campaign in their school community. It is a great opportunity for high school students to get involved with their community. Apply here.
FGP is looking for students who will take the initiative to get this effort re-started/relaunch after Covid put it on hold.
