What, When, Why?

"Why can't we have just one platform?"
Each of our main platforms has different strengths and purposes. Also people like to have choice!
What? When?
At CLC we have a number of options:
SimonAt this point in time, Simon is essentially for Administrative functions – roll marking, general documents, timetables and lists.
For Learning and Teaching : General documentation and links and particularly Assessment and Reporting | School eLockerFor Learning and Teaching : This is the PRIMARY PLATFORM for delivering work to the students and receiving files in the Drop Folder, backup of work and collaboration and feedback. Besides its features, School eLocker does not rely on internet access at school and is therefore easily accessed and available. KLA Network drives can be mapped within eLocker for easy access for staff to distribute shared resources | Why? * Easy access to resources * Always available 24/7 * Students should back up their work * Digital delivery - clean and green * Feedback * Collaboration and communication |

Google Apps for Education (GAFE)
For Learning and Teaching : Google Apps for Education (GAFE) together with Google Classroom
This is another contemporary platform that is cloud based and so it does rely on internet access
This is currently being trialled by a few teachers.
