Weekly Update
October 1-5
Fall Fundraiser
There will also be some great prizes! Students will be able to draw a kangaroo (at random) for selling items and turning in their coupons. We will also draw one student daily to receive a special prize; students will also receive prizes in their orders based on the number of items they sell). Don't worry, teachers will be receive teachers too!! We will draw a teacher's name daily; if that teacher is wearing a kangaroo, he or she will be able to wear jeans the next school day.
Finally, both the preschool (infants-Pre-K) and elementary (K-6) class with the highest percentage of dollars sold will receive a pizza and cookie party. The teacher of those classes will also be able to wear jeans for one week, receive a Merryhill item (up to $30 value), and get bragging rights for the year!
Thanks for your help in encouraging a great fundraiser for our school! We will be using the fundraiser for additional preschool materials and supplies and additional technology for the elementary classrooms.
Elementary Notifications and Upcoming Events
*4th, 5th, and 6th grades will be traveling to Pine Cove Monday and Tuesday. There will be a few students who will not be attending. These students will be helping in classrooms Monday and Tuesday.
*There will be a couple schedule changes next week due to the trip. 3rd grade will eat lunch at 12:00 pm Monday and Tuesday. Ms. Burke's class will have Spanish Tuesday at 1:30 pm. There will be no art classes Monday or Tuesday as Amber will be on the trip (and I am absolutely not capable of teaching art).
*Our monthly staff meeting is Wednesday, October 3 at 7:00 am. As a reminder, Kindergarten teachers will be providing breakfast. Michelle and I are working on a few initiatives to hopefully help you all more in October. Please come with any technology issues you are having, so we can discuss and work to resolve those. Also, please bring your ideas for math and literature night so we can make a list of needed supplies.

*Spinal screenings for 5th grade girls will be Wednesday, October 3.

Please remind all your parents about conferences (initial notice and at minimum a reminder the day before - a couple reminders may not hurt, but please do not inundate the parents). Conferences should run 25-30 minutes (but not longer as you do have several conferences back-to-back). You should discuss current progress, goals, good things, and any possible concerns as well as PLP discussions.
*Family Movie Night is Friday, October 5 at 7:00 pm. We will be showing "Inside Out." If you are interested in working, please let me know. Teachers will be able to bring their families for free and will receive a $25 stipend. We need 3-4 additional teachers to work.
