Sending Emails to Parents
Parents have already given feedback (via LISD parent community) saying that it would be very helpful for teachers to include as much identifying information as possible when communicating via email. They've asked for you to identify what grade you teach. (Parents with multiple children are not always sure which child items pertain to.)
Please keep this in mind as you prepare your emails.
Special Education Updates
- All ARD meetings will occur as scheduled (per parent participation) at original dates and times starting April 6th. ARDs that were missed are being rescheduled ASAP.
- All case mangers will be sending out individualized learning plans to their students based off of specific IEP goals. Families are being asked to work on these plans first and then go to the grade level plans to complete activities.
- If a student only has behavior/communication goals they will follow the grade level plan but be provided with additional emotional/social resources and activities.
- Please include all case managers when communicating with parents to ensure we are all on the same page. They will include all general education teachers when they communicate.

I saw this quote and immediately thought of all of us. This is uncharted territory that we are navigating resiliently--better than I could have imagined. BUT....that doesn't mean it's not hard. Please let me know how you're doing and what I can do to help.
