this is the only duck that has adapted to breeding in the southern marshes such as Florida .adult description Large dabbling duck. Body dark brown. Head and neck lighter brown. White underwing linings contrast sharply with dark body in flight. Greenish blue at back of wing. It is in danger of being displaced by introduced Mallards, primarily because of hybridization. you can help breed them in captivity and then release them in tho the wild when they are old enough
