A message from Mrs. Mease
Welcome Back! Greetings to everyone, whether you are new to LSMC or we’ve worked together previously, welcome to an exciting new school year! This has been a busy summer for the administrative team and staff running summer school, participating in professional development, planning activities for character education, designing lessons for the new school year, and working hard to put the best possible staff in place for our students. I am so excited about the 2019-2020 school year for all of our students.
Kindly,
Mrs. Mease

Counselor's Corner
Welcome back Eagles! I have loved seeing all of your smiling faces this week! I hope everyone had a restful and adventurous summer and you are ready to lead, ready to learn and ready for life this school year. This week’s counselor’s corner comes with tips that will help your family get back into a good routine, and create great organizational habits that will benefit your entire family.
1. Invest in a family calendar that everyone can see. Put important deadlines, due dates and family events on the calendar so that they are visible. Be sure to add fun family outings to the calendar so that everyone can look forward to it and plan accordingly. .
2. .Get them a folder with pockets. On the left side write to words “to do” and on the right side write the word “complete”. Each day when your child comes home they will check the “to do” pocket for any notes to be signed or homework that needs to be completed. When all notes are signed and homework is finished, place it in the right side of the folder to be turned in the next day.
3.Set alarms on your phone with different songs. If they hear the song, “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” they know it’s time to get to the table. If they hear the song, “Get The Party Started” they know they better get in the car because it is time to go. Many teachers use this in class so they will be familiar with the concept.
4. Have a homework station location. Children will be more distracted if they are doing homework in the same place they watch television or play video games. I recommend having a homework station that is stocked with supplies so that there are fewer distractions, and they can focus on the task at hand.
5.Prepare your wardrobe and lunch the night before. If your child brings their lunch to school, make it the night before and put it in the refrigerator ready to go the next morning. If the clothes, socks, shoes and accessories are ready there will be no last minute searches for that left shoe under the sofa.
A little planning ahead will save your family some heartaches and headaches and help your child feel prepared and productive every day.
