Alluvial Plain
Alluvial plains are when areas are built up with rich fertile soil left by river floods. Egypt mainly has alluvial plains near the Nile because the Nile overflows. Lately Egypt has been getting many alluvial plains due to the Nile overflowing. The result is that they are getting more amounts of silt.
Bedouins
Bedouins are nomatic desert people who follow a traditional way of life. Bedouins often live alone in the desert. On Monday a group of young children stumbled upon some Bedouins camp and decided to see what it's like to live like a bedouin. "It was really fun," the young boy said to his mother when he came back three days later.
Egypt's crops
Some of egypts main crops are vegetables, fruits, and sugarcane. Egyptians are able to grow these crops mostly around the Nile because it has alluvial plains surrounding it. Due to the alluvial plains that have been happening Egypt has been able to grow some of its main crops, vegetables, fruits, and sugarcane. They are able to is because the Aswan Dam didn't block the flow of silt.
The Aswan Dam
The Aswan Dam's positive ways are that it gives people control over the Nile's floodwaters. Another positive way is that it allows them to harvest two to three crops a year. The problems with the Aswan Dam is that it blocks the flow of silt. Another problem is that it prevents less freshwater from reaching the delta.
Suez Canal
The Suez Canal was not man-made. It separates the Sinai peninsula from the rest of Egypt. It is one of the worlds most important waterways.
