Happening this week...

As we enter the final week of the grading period, please be diligent in checking Skyward for grades. Turn in all missing or late work and retake failed tests according to BISD grading policy. Check tutoring schedules if you are struggling to master the objectives in your classes and make arrangements to attend. Your teachers are here to help you.

Pre-AP Science ~ Mrs. Sanchez and Ms. Marek

This week we will continue to be scientific researchers to further our study over each group topic for Mission 12. The groups are finalizing their research answers and we will dive deeper into the process of experimental design.

Accelerated Science ~ Mrs. Irons


We will be culminating our unit on Ecosystems and Environments this week and will be presenting our findings to the “EPA”. Friday we will have our unit exam. Students will review in class on Thursday. Tutoring, for students who feel that they do not understand a concept, will be Tuesday and Friday morning.

Monday: Final Project Workday

Tuesday: “Cutting Off Texas” Presentations, Day 1

Wednesday: “Cutting Off Texas” Presentations, Day 2

Thursday: Review 8.11ABC (Mrs. Irons will be off campus)

Friday: 8.11ABC Cutting Off Texas Exam, last day of the six weeks

Pre-AP Math ~ Mrs. Justice, Ms. Gregg and Ms. Parker

This week students will be working on their second unit: Co-Operation! which will cover integer operations. Be watching for information to be sent home regarding the project your child will have due at the end of the unit. Mrs. Justice, Ms. Parker, and Ms. Gregg will be out on Tuesday for a training. Mrs. Justice and Ms. Gregg will also be out on Thursday this week for a training. Ms. Gregg’s tutoring for the week will be moved to Wednesday before and after school. The last day to correct the unit 1 test for Ms. Gregg’s class will be Wednesday. Don’t forget, the end of the 6 weeks is Friday.

  • Mrs. Justice’s Tuesday afternoon tutoring session will be moved to Wednesday after school for this week.

This week students will continue Unit 2: Zombieland over Volume and Area. Students have been tasked with solving clues in order to find a cure for a Zombie Outbreak. Students will have a vocabulary test on Friday, September 29th. Vocabulary words and their definitions are posted in Classroom.

Humanities ~ Mrs. Moore, Ms. Lindamood, Mrs. Strother and Ms. Peden

Students will test over Social Institutions and Government Systems on MONDAY, September 25, in World Cultures. The review is on Google Classroom. We will them begin our study of North America through the reading fiction and nonfiction passages in close reading workshop. PreAP students are making great progress building their blog sites for the Book Review Blog Unit.

Global Business and Professional Communication ~ Ms. Tedford and Ms. Owen


This week we will begin research and work on our Growth Mindset Presentations. Students will discover how the journey of an influential individual who demonstrates growth mindset can inspire them in their own personal journey. As they conduct research this week, they will also become familiar with presentation skills and vocabulary, which we will have a short quiz over on September 24th.

Beginning Band ~ Mr. Sypert

Students are making their weekly videos to demonstrate their growth from the beginning of the week until the end of the week. These videos are meant to reflect improvements made over a week’s worth of at home practice. Please help encourage your students to practice as much as possible. At least 15-20 minutes per day to get things started.
