News From the Principal
Shout out to all of you who have worked so hard to ensure your students are coming to school on time and ready to learn. Thank you for your support as we continue to work towards the Thanksgiving Break.
Tardies
- At the beginning of the year our bell system was down
- It is now working and we are using them
- We have been working with students this week to remind them to get to class on time.
- New tardy policy will begin next week.
Lost and Found
- Our lost and found if very full.
- It is located in the Cafeteria.
- If your student has lost a water bottle, lunch box, back pack, or jacket, please have them check the lost and found
- Items not picked up will be donated.
**Gentle Reminder**
Please make sure your children are leaving all sunglasses, stuffed animals, earbuds, and baseball caps at home. School is not the place for them. They can get lost or cause a distraction in class.

Youth Equipped to Succeed (YES)
Dear Parent/Guardian,
Our school has partnered with Youth Equipped to Succeed (YES) to provide information on relationships and sexual health. Through these programs, students are provided research-based information on how to achieve optimal health and are encouraged to focus on their dreams and goals.
Please join us for the Parent Presentation to preview what the students will see and receive tools and strategies for communication with your child.

Youth Equipped to Succeed believes strongly in connecting students to positive messages and healthy relationships that will help them navigate cultural pressures. Through their programming, students of all ages, backgrounds and circumstances are equipped with the knowledge, attitudes and skills they need in order to achieve more healthy and successful futures. Youth Equipped to Succeed mission: Growing value and vision in youth by combating isolation and imparting hope Our students will be participating in Freedom to Succeed which provides the legal definition of sex and explains laws dealing with such issues as child support, underage sex, sexual harassment, sexting and sexual activity while under the influence of drugs and alcohol.

Math - Continue work on Unit 5: Ratios and Rates
RLA - Continue Unit 2B with a focus on Drama and Poetry
Science - Continue unit of Force and Motion including several days of lab experiments
Social Studies - Continue learning about the US and Canadian regions of the world.
7th Grade
Math - Begin work on Unit 4: Proportional Relationships
RLA - Begin Unit 2B with a focus on Drama and Poetry
Science - Complete unit on investigating Plant Systems and Homeostasis and take a unit assessment.
Social Studies - Begin Unit 5 by researching the unrest and revolt in Texas.
8th Grade
Math
- 8th Grade math - Work on writing linear equations.
- Algebra - Begin work on Unit 4: Applications of Linear Functions
RLA - Continue Unit 2B with a focus on Drama and Poetry
Science - Continue unit 3 investigating force and motion with an emphasis this week on Newton's Laws of Motion.
Social Studies - Continue Unit 4 by learning about the Constitutional Convention
