Spirit Day- October 29th
We will hold a Spirit Day on Friday, October 29th. Our students will have the opportunity to participate in our Spirit Day in three different ways:
1. Halloween costume
2. Crazy Hair Day
3. Montgomery School Colors
The following are our guidelines should your child opt to wear their Halloween costume to school on Friday, October 29th.
Costume items that will NOT be permitted:
Shirts/ costumes with inappropriate language, or any reference to drugs, alcohol, or violent acts are not considered appropriate school attire (per the NPSD Elementary Handbook).
Short skirts/shorts, bare midriffs
Costume masks which cover the full face
Toy weapons (nunchucks/sickles/swords/knives/guns, etc)
We ask that all costume preparations be completed at home prior to arriving at school. Our students will not be able to get dressed in their costume or apply make-up/ colored hairspray once they arrive at school. Students will still be required to wear masks during school hours (per NPSD Health and Safety Plan). If you have any questions about the acceptability of a costume, I ask that you check with your child’s homeroom teacher prior to wearing the costume to school. Any students wearing inappropriate costumes will be required to have a change of clothes brought to school for them. Please help support an appropriate, distraction-free learning environment for all students by assuring that your child(ren) adhere to these guidelines. We look forward to our Mountain Lions having a fun morning at school on the 29th!
When is Live Streaming Available?
In the event that a student tests positive for COVID-19 or is ordered to quarantine by the district or local health officials, classroom teachers will utilize the streaming technology in the classroom. The student will be able to listen to instruction throughout the day. It is acknowledged that the interactivity will be limited, but students will have access to the content presented in the classroom environment. This option is only for students who are ordered to quarantine by the district or local health officials.
Please call the school office if your child will not be attending school or email our building secretary at faiaea@npenn.org.
Bread Drop Donation
We are proud to support Bread Drop again this school year to make and donate PB&J sandwiches year-long to individuals in our community facing food insecurity. Our first donation will be on Tuesday October 26th. Please sign up on MTK if you would like to participate!
One loaf of white bread makes approximately 10-12 sandwiches. Heap on the peanut butter and jelly and place sandwiches in individual Ziploc bags. Then, place these bags in a larger bag labeled with the total number of sandwiches. Drop off in the designated cooler in the school lobby for that week by 9:30am Tuesday morning.
