Schofield educators and students are working to reach the
following academic goals this school year: More than 80% of students will be proficient with literacy, writing and numeracy standards.
Currently, 82% of students are proficient with math standards and 76% of students are proficient with reading standards.54% are proficient with writing standards.
Educators and students will continue to work on the above goals this school year.
In addition to current progress toward building goals, Schofield is excited to share that Schofield kids scored above the state average in English Language Arts and Math in all grades on the Missouri Assessment Program test last spring! We are so proud of you, Schofield kids!

Classroom Supply Needs
We are currently in high need of the following items, we are either a package way from having no more or completely out. If you want to consider donating to the class we would be ever so thankful for the following items:

What We Are Focusing On This Week
Phonics: Students will be focusing on identifying number names 1-5 and match it to the correct numeral. Students will also focus on identify color names and apply it to different learning activities.
Writing: We will continue in our opinion writing unit. Students will understand what is the difference between a fact and opinion. Students will read through different opinion prompts and decide what they FEEL is correct.
Math: This week we will focus on 2-D shapes and learning to build new shapes using a triangles, squares or rectangles. We will end the week by learning to classify objects by different attributes.
Content: We will focus on different social-emotional development points. Ex. sharing, being kind, use kind words, personal space. expressing feelings, etc...
Sight Words
Classroom Goals
Literacy: At Least 80% students will identify all 40 sight words by the end of March. We currently have 29% of students who have met this goal! (HOWEVER, many students are right there! Let's keep going!)
Math: At least 80% of students can a penny, nickel, dime and quarter accurately. We currently have 58% of students who can identify a penny, nickel, dime and quarter accurately.
LET'S CELEBRATE!
At Least 15/17 students will know 25 or more sight words by the end of February. We currently have 88% of students who have met this goal!

Tiger Paws
Students are able to earn tiger paws when they are being safe, respectful and following expectations. Each time our class earns 50 tiger paws we are able to move up on the wall and earn something special. We currently have 310 tiger paws! We are working towards our next reward for 350 tiger paws for lunch with a principal.
BOX TOPS
BOX TOPS
Our school collects Box Tops year round. If you have Box Tops at home please send them in at any time. Box Tops can be found on hundreds of product packages. Our school earn 10 cents for every Box Top, which adds up quickly!
K-2 Counselor's Corner
During our next visit from Ms. Pietruszynski, students in Kindergarten and 2nd grade will discuss kindness and ways to be a good friend. Students will discuss the importance of being kind to others and respecting our differences while 1st grade will wrap up their careers unit.
