December 2018
Principal's Desk
It's December! What a wonderful time of year. I want to wish each of you a very Merry Christmas; I hope you are blessed this holiday season. I count each of your children as I count my blessings and am grateful for the opportunity to know and help educate them.

Kindness Wreath
The holiday season is a wonderful time of year! It is a time that we often ask children what gifts they would like to receive. Our kindness wreath is a reminder of what gifts we would like to give. Each day we are unwrapping an ornament on our wreath. Inside each ornament is an act of kindness that we can do for others. When you visit Webster you will see our wreath hanging on the wall near the library. Be sure to take a few moments to read through the kind things we have been doing for one another. We truly want to celebrate making kindness a habit that lasts all year long!
7 Habits at Home: Habit 4
This month we are focusing on Habit 4: Think Win-Win. Habit 4 encourages us to find ways where everyone can win; it does not mean we have to compromise our values or what we believe. At home you can support this habit by instilling confidence in your student and helping them to think win-win. An activity you can do at home is make a "wish poster". Have your student draw a line down the middle of the poster. On one side they can list things that they want (like time to play a game) and on the other side they can list things that you want (like help doing dishes). Work together with them to make wishes on each side come true. Habit 4 is all about thinking about others' needs, wants, and feelings, not just our own.
