Principal's Message
May 2020
With April showers come beautiful May flowers! We are so excited to see the weather get warmer and the season begin to change. This school year has been a year of such awesome growth for our students. I am so very proud of all of their hard work. Take the time this summer to enjoy the time off, visit with family, read with your child, and rejuvenate. I want to take a minute to thank all of our families for supporting your child(ren) all school year, and more recently through Distance Learning. As a staff, our number one priority is and will always be doing what is best for your student(s). This includes meeting their academic, social, and emotional needs. I know the 4th quarter was a challenge, but through hard work, dedication, creativity, and hard work we got through it together.
As I reflect on the year, and what a year it has been, I am amazed to have been able to observe the growth at Lake Ripley Elementary. This includes kindergarten students who learned how to navigate the lunch line, 1st graders learning to read, 2nd graders and their unending stories, the critical thinking skills of our 3rd graders, and the leadership shown by the 4th grade. Our teachers, support staff, custodians, and cooks all genuinely enjoy and care about children. The school year certainly flew by.
As I come to close, I would like to offer a couple of reminders. Please continue to stay safe and healthy. We are living in such a unique era. I encourage you to have your children read over the summer months. Enjoy time outdoors and allow for some family time. Don’t forget Mother’s Day on May 10th! Have a fantastic summer. You deserve it.
To our 4th graders, I wish you the best of luck in middle school – you are prepared. I am so proud to see all that you have accomplished and cannot wait to see all the great things you will achieve while at the middle school. They are lucky to get such an awesome group of students.
Doing the Right Thing
