Same-sex Marriage

Rationale: The district is primarily Republican, and they do not believe in same-sex marriage.

Plank: "It has been proven by both experience and endless social science studies that traditional marriage is best for children"

Religion

Rationale: There is 22% foreign born citizens in our district.

Plank: "No one should 'suffer on account of his religious opinion or belief, but that all men shall be free to profess, and by argument to maintain, their opinion in matters of religion'."

Gun Control

Rationale: In certain parts of the district there is a high crime rate. And there are many hunters overall in Texas.

Plank: "We uphold the right of individuals to keep and bear arms, a right which antedated the Constitution and was solemnly confirmed by the Second Amendment."

Legal Immigration

Rationale: With Texas being a neighbor to Mexico, the district is concerned about the safety of their families from drug cartels and illegal immigrants.

Plank: "In an age of terrorism, drug cartels, human trafficking, and criminal gangs, the presence of millions of unidentified persons in this country poses grave risks to the safety and the sovereignty of the United States."
